The crackdown on music piracy continues.
There has been a lot in the news lately relating to the rise of illegal Music downloads from the internet and the copyright of published commercial music.
This includes the playing of any music – whether from iPods, CDs, or streaming Internet Radio on your Telephone system.
The Copyright Owners of published music are being increasingly vigilant in protecting the income and benefit they get from their music being played.
As a valued client of Image On Line, whether past or present, we want you to be aware that playing Music On Hold from any source without the appropriate licenses is in breach of the Copyright Act. All breaches of this Act attract heavy fines.
The industry bodies that protect the copyright of published music are:
the Australian Performing Rights Association (APRA)
the Australian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society (AMCOS)
Phonographic Performance Company of Australia (PPCA)
But – your Telephone On Hold Messages service from Image On Line is free of APRA and AMCOS Copyright, providing it is only used within the Telephone On Hold environment.
Don’t get hit with a huge fine.
